Connected Vehicles & IoV

Connected Vehicles & IoV

Enable vehicle-to-vehicle communication, over-the-air software updates, and real-time fleet management for millions of vehicles sending telemetry continuously — while they move between cell towers and networks.

The mobility problem underneath connected vehicles

A vehicle isn't a fixed endpoint. It moves between cell towers, switches from 5G to WiFi in a garage, and drives through dead zones — and a fleet telemetry or OTA-update session that can't survive that movement forces constant reconnection, which means lost telemetry and interrupted updates. Relay's QUIC transport supports connection migration and multipath by design, so a session started on one network path keeps running when the vehicle moves to another, instead of tearing down and reconnecting on every handoff.

What's included

  • →OTA updates at scale: push software updates to a fleet without every vehicle competing for the same reconnect window.
  • →Continuous telemetry streaming: diagnostics and sensor data keep flowing through network transitions, not just when parked on WiFi.
  • →V2X messaging: vehicle-to-infrastructure and vehicle-to-vehicle communication runs on the same low-latency transport as fleet telemetry.
  • →Fleet-scale connections: 20M+ concurrent connections on one platform, for fleets that outgrow a typical IoT broker's connection limits.
